Position Overview:

The Director of Academic Affairs is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to ensure the academic success and excellence of the institution. They oversee curriculum development, instructional practices, assessment methods, and academic support services to promote student learning and achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Development and Alignment:
  • Lead the development, review, and alignment of curricula across all academic programs and disciplines.
  • Ensure that curricula meet accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and the educational goals of the institution.
  1. Instructional Leadership and Support:
  • Provide guidance and support to faculty members in instructional design, pedagogical approaches, and the integration of innovative teaching methodologies.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting professional development opportunities and facilitating collaboration among faculty.
  1. Assessment and Data Analysis:
  • Develop and implement assessment strategies to measure student learning outcomes and inform instructional decision-making.
  • Analyze assessment data to identify areas for improvement and implement interventions to enhance student achievement.
  1. Academic Policy Development:
  • Develop and review academic policies and procedures related to grading, academic integrity, student progression, and other relevant areas.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies as well as local, and international regulations governing education.
  1. Student Support Services:
  • Collaborate with student support services departments to provide academic advising, tutoring, and other support services to enhance student success.
  • Implement initiatives to support the academic needs of diverse student populations, including those with learning differences or language barriers.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Collaborate with school leadership, faculty, parents, and external stakeholders to promote academic excellence and student achievement.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders regarding academic programs, initiatives, and student progress.
  1. Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in educational leadership, curriculum development, and instructional supervision.
  • Strong understanding of pedagogical theories, assessment practices, and educational research.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, foster collaboration, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards, educational regulations, and best practices in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Experience working in a diverse educational environment with a commitment to equity and inclusion.
