After a long and meticulous search for the new principal of our esteemed school, AlS is proud to announce that we have found a match! As a school with unique ties with common core standards and American-style education, it was indeed a challenge to scout an individual with experience in American-style education and common core while having first-hand knowledge in middle eastern societal norms and customs. The mission AlS has for its students to employ 21st century skills, ethics, and nationalism meant that we had to be selective if we wanted a leader who could instill these values for our team and students while maintaining standards of accreditation, common core, and the ministry of education.
Ms. Sherine Mohamed comes equipped with an extensive background in education and accreditation evaluations across over 20 schools in 20 different countries! She has had her role in many schools in positions of academic leadership and believes in holistic development. She has served on many school committees and lead professional developments. She is fluent in English and Arabic, and has a base knowledge in French and German! She is incredibly passionate about education and school development and is enthusiastic to get started with us at AlS to fill the gaps in aiding AlS to become a model school for future branches across Kurdistan.
It goes without saying that stakeholders, students, parents, and staff alike welcome Ms. Sherine with open arms and are thrilled to benefit from all the skills and expertise she has to offer. Under the right leadership, with the right team and the right enthusiasm, support, and passion for learning and growth, AIS is set to become the leading K-12 school in all of Kurdistan!
