Inclusion Coordinator

Job Summary

The Inclusion Coordinator is responsible for leading and overseeing the school's inclusion program and ensuring that students requiring additional academic, behavioral, social-emotional, or learning support receive appropriate services and accommodations to access the curriculum successfully. The Inclusion Coordinator identifies students requiring support, coordinates intervention services, develops and monitors Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), collaborates with teachers and families, and ensures accommodations are implemented consistently across all learning environments. The Inclusion Coordinator serves as the school's lead specialist in inclusive education and works closely with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Heads of Department, teachers, families, and external specialists to promote student success. The Inclusion Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Academic Affairs.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Educational Psychology, Counseling, Education, or a related field. • Minimum of three years of experience supporting students with diverse learning needs. • Strong knowledge of intervention strategies, accommodations, and inclusive instructional practices. • Experience developing and monitoring student support plans. • Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to analyze student data and make evidence-based recommendations. • Commitment to student-centered and inclusive educational practices. Preferred Qualifications • Master's degree in Special Education, Inclusive Education, Educational Leadership, Educational Psychology, or a related field. • Teaching certification or licensure. • Experience working within an international school setting. • Experience with MTSS, RTI, inclusion programs, intervention systems, or student support services. • Experience collaborating with external specialists and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

The Inclusion Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that students receiving support services demonstrate measurable academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth. The Inclusion Coordinator is expected to: • Lead the identification, monitoring, and support of students requiring intervention services. • Ensure accommodations and support plans are implemented consistently and effectively. • Serve as the primary advocate for student access, inclusion, and equitable learning opportunities. • Build collaborative partnerships between school staff, families, and external specialists. • Use data to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and support programs. • Promote a culture of inclusion throughout the school community. Key Responsibilities: 1. Student Identification and Evaluation • Identify students who may require academic, behavioral, social-emotional, language, or learning support services. • Review referrals submitted by teachers, Heads of Department, Student Affairs personnel, parents, and school leadership. • Conduct observations, collect evidence, and coordinate screening procedures. • Analyze academic, behavioral, attendance, and assessment data to identify support needs. • Coordinate referrals to external specialists when appropriate. • Maintain documentation regarding student referrals, evaluations, and support plans. 2. Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Student Support Plans • Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and other support plans. • Establish measurable goals and progress indicators for each student receiving support services. • Ensure goals are aligned with individual student needs and academic expectations. • Review IEPs regularly and update them as needed. • Monitor student progress toward IEP goals throughout the school year. • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all support plans and student documentation. 3. Accommodation and Modification Management • Determine appropriate accommodations and modifications based on student needs and supporting evidence. • Ensure accommodations are clearly communicated to teachers and relevant staff. • Monitor implementation of accommodations during daily instruction, assessments, examinations, and school activities. • Verify that testing accommodations are provided consistently and appropriately. • Ensure accommodations remain effective and make recommendations for adjustments when necessary. • Maintain accommodation records and implementation documentation. 4. Student Progress Monitoring and Intervention • Monitor academic, behavioral, attendance, and social-emotional progress of students receiving support services. • Analyze intervention data and adjust support plans accordingly. • Coordinate intervention services and support strategies across departments. • Develop and implement targeted intervention plans when students are not making expected progress. • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and report findings to Academic Affairs. • Promote evidence-based intervention practices throughout the school. 5. Collaboration with Teachers and Academic Departments • Work closely with Heads of Department and teachers to ensure student support plans are implemented effectively. • Conduct monthly grade-level meetings to review the progress of students receiving inclusion services. • Provide teachers with practical strategies, accommodations, and classroom support recommendations. • Support teachers in differentiating instruction and implementing inclusive practices. • Assist teachers in interpreting student data and adjusting instruction to meet individual needs. • Collaborate with ELP, KLP, Student Affairs, Wellness, and Academic Affairs personnel to coordinate support services. 6. Family Engagement and Communication • Serve as the primary school contact for families of students receiving inclusion services. • Conduct meetings with parents regarding student progress, concerns, support plans, and interventions. • Ensure parents are informed partners in the development and review of support plans. • Provide families with resources and recommendations that support student success. • Maintain consistent and professional communication with families throughout the school year. 7. Professional Development and Staff Training • Provide training and professional development related to inclusion, accommodations, differentiation, intervention, and student support. • Deliver a minimum of one staff training session each semester or as directed by Academic Affairs. • Support teachers in developing inclusive instructional practices. • Share current research and best practices related to inclusion and student support. • Build staff capacity to meet diverse learner needs effectively. 8. Program Management and Compliance • Maintain a comprehensive database of students receiving support services. • Ensure all student records remain accurate, confidential, and up to date. • Develop systems for tracking accommodations, interventions, progress monitoring, and support plans. • Prepare reports regarding inclusion services, student growth, and program effectiveness. • Monitor compliance with school policies related to inclusion and student support. • Assist with accreditation, audits, inspections, and school improvement initiatives related to inclusion. 9. School-Wide Inclusion Leadership • Promote an inclusive school culture that values diversity and student success. • Advocate for practices that increase access and participation for all learners. • Identify barriers to student success and recommend solutions. • Collaborate with leadership regarding school-wide inclusion initiatives. • Support transitions for students entering, leaving, or changing educational programs. • Contribute to strategic planning related to student support services.

Experience Requirements

The Inclusion Coordinator serves as the school's lead specialist for inclusion and student support services. Success in this role is measured by the effectiveness of support plans, the implementation of accommodations, student growth, teacher capacity, and the overall quality of inclusion practices across the school.
