For the Academic year 23-24, AIS is thrilled to expand our offerings and accept admissions for students up to Grade 7, providing them with an exceptional middle school experience. Our middle school curriculum is carefully crafted to offer a comprehensive and well-rounded approach to learning, empowering students to thrive academically and develop essential skills for the future.
In English, Math, and Science, our curriculum closely aligns with the internationally recognized Common Core Standards. These standards set clear learning objectives and emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication skills. Through engaging classroom activities, hands-on experiments, and collaborative projects, our students become adept at analyzing information, applying logical reasoning, and expressing their thoughts effectively.
To ensure a deep understanding of our students’ cultural heritage and their place in the world, we follow the Ministry of Education Standards for Social Studies (Komalayati), Kurdish, Arabic Studies, and Islamic Studies. Through these subjects, our students develop an appreciation for their cultural roots, gain knowledge about other cultures, and foster respect for diversity. They explore historical events, societal structures, and ethical principles, encouraging them to become informed and responsible global citizens.
Recognizing the transformative impact of technology on our society, we have introduced a new subject this year: Computer Literacy. In this course, students learn fundamental digital skills and concepts that are essential in today’s ever-changing world. They develop proficiency in basic computer operations, gain an understanding of internet safety and responsible online behavior, and explore the foundations of coding and programming. By equipping our students with these technological competencies, we empower them to adapt to the digital landscape and harness its potential for creativity and problem-solving.
